A human-centered approach to the application of AI in Emergency Medicine: A scenario-based evaluation of different levels of AI support

In the first study, we identify potentially useful applications of AI in emergency medicine based on a needs analysis. In the second study, we investigate how different AI deployment scenarios in emergency medicine could look for selected tasks. These scenarios will then be evaluated by future AI users in the hospitals. Subsequently, we experimentally examine how the various selected AI scenarios, which differ in their degree of AI support, perform in terms of psychological impacts (such as trust in and acceptance of AI) as well as the quality of medical decision-making.
